Sherwood Park is located in Strathcona County, Alberta, Canada and is set off of the eastern side of the provincial capital of Edmonton. Although the community has a population of roughly 70,000 and could be recognized as a city it still remains a hamlet. Sherwood Park is largely a residential community that is considered to be ideally located in close proximity to a variety of industries which converts to shorter commute times for the people living here. If getting back to nature is important to you then Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area, Ministik Lake Game Bird Sanctuary and Elk Island National Park are all within a short drive. These will provide day use or overnight camping for a wide variety of bird or wildlife watching, canoeing the expansive wetlands or exploring the seemingly endless trail systems. The outdoor activities are only limited by your imagination and they are all at your finger tips while in Sherwood Park.

Culture and History buffs may want to visit Bremner House, Festival place, Sherwood Park’s Heritage Mile or the Strathcona County Museum and Archives where there is something for all ages. 

Sherwood Park boarders Refinery Row which is Canadas largest hydrocarbon refining cluster and is home to Suncor Energy Edmonton Refinery, Strathcona Refinery and Alberta Envirofuels Inc. The manufacturing, fabrication and many other oilfield industries are a key component of the economic growth in Alberta in which Sherwood Park is centrally located.
